In the new trimester, senators will collectively draw the priority set of actions that will among others include; implementation of constitutional reforms, establishing senatorial research secretariat and handling denial of 1994 genocide against the Tutsi.
They will attend dialogues and meetings, assess the value of law projects to be handled and evaluate decisions of both chambers of parliament.
This will go hand to hand with visiting citizens and evaluating various reports of senators’ performance and their foreign missions, confirming reports of meetings of general assembly among others.
A committee of senators has been commissioned to prepare a report indicating how the senate can better follow up the implementation of constitutional reform principles.
