The Minister of Internal Security, Sheikh Mussa Fazil Harerimana has called on former fighters in DRC forests to play a role in maintaining security of the nation especially desisting from and countering the circulation of illegal small and medium arms.
Harerimana made the call on Saturday during talks held with former militia of rebel movements operating in Congo forests trained in Mutobo Demobilization and Reintegration Center.
He took them through the history of Rwanda where colonizers spread divisionism, hence uprooting Rwandan values and norms.
The minister reminded them of the importance of security in the development of any country and asked them to play a role in countering the distribution of small and, medium arms since they put lives of Rwandans to risks.
Repatriated Rwandans from DRC rebel forces are first rehabilitated at Mutobo Demobilization and Reintegration Center before rejoining their communties.
