{Secondary leaving students have started a civic education training where they will be acquainted with moral values and patriotism ideals of Rwanda preparing g them to good and active citizens of the country.

The civic education that started yesterday was supposed to start on 6th January 2016 but it was postponed over malaria worries.
The management of National Itorero Commission says that Itorero starts after applying insecticide in various boarding facilities where the Itorero is held.
Rucagu Boniface, the president of National Itorero Commission says that the Itorero is supposed to build students into responsible and country-leaving citizens.
“They have come to be trained in values and ideals which will them into patriotic Rwandans fighting for self reliance and dignity,” he said.
Some of youth attending Itorero stress that it is important for them since it prepares them to become Rwandans committed to work for their country in line with the country’s development aspirations.
The Itorero of secondary leaving students is being held for the 7th time, taking place at 181 sites. It is expected that 70,000 students will attend this edition of civic education. 350,000 students have been trained in Itorero since it was launched in 2009.
