Safety attracts foreign investors in Rwanda

{The delegation of investors from Mantis Collection Hotels(MCH) based in South Africa has opened doors in Rwandan hospitality industry. }

MCH is a company owning star properties located around the World which committed to manage hotels making sure the property is sensitive to its surroundings in respect of the building, environment and local community.

It has agreed to complete construction activities of a private owned hotel of a business man Kayigema Anicet. This group will assume the management of his hotel under construction built in the vicinity of Kigali Convention Center.

Arriving in Rwanda on Thursday, the delegation of Mantis Collection Hotels investors held talks with government officials to discuss tourism investment opportunities.

Talking to IGIHE on Saturday, Alastair McEwen Smith, MCH Financial Controller of Mantis said that his delegation has been attracted by safety and facility offered to investors in a country heading very quickly in a right direction.

“Arriving in Rwanda, we have been impressed by fantastic ICT. Everywhere is clean and the presence of army members giving a very good impression of security. We have been explained incentives of business coming into the country and we were very interested.” Said Alastair McEwen Smith.

“We had talks with deputy Vice mayor of Kigali city, RDB officials among others welcoming and encouraging us for investment in the country. They explained twenty year plan of the country development in tourism industry.” Added McEwen Smith.

According to Kayigema, the owner of the hotel Inn Apart, the group will cover missing fund and unpaid bank loans that have been spent on construction of the hotel.
Alastair McEwen Smith said that quality of accommodation and security had an increased value to their confidence to invest in Rwanda.

“Quality of accommodation, friendly Rwandans, gave me confidence to invest in a secured country. We believe we can concentrate on quality of products friendly with the environment and work with the local community.”He said.

According to Alastair McEwen Smith the company has decided to take management of the hotel ahead of being an interesting property.
