Bucyanahandi Phocas, a Gakenke resident lauded the kind act.
“It is of great value to meet for raising the support of our neighbors affected by disasters,” he said.
The executive secretary of Kamubuga sector, Ndababonye said that officials from all sectors of Gakenke district pledged to donate Rwf 30,000 each and revealed a plan of approaching citizens for support to the affected residents.
The Minister of Disaster and Refugee Management (MIDIMAR), Mukantabana Séraphine who attended the event requested the completion of houses meant for affected families within three months.
“We should not go beyond three months in building houses of residents affected by disasters since the government implemented policies addressing the matter.We will succeed with the commitment of leaders and yours,” she said.
Donors promised the support will be availed to the district by June 15th, 2016.
