CGP Paul Rwarakabije the former head of Rwanda Correctional Service yesterday handed over duties to Brig Gen Rwigamba George who was recently appointed by the cabinet on March 29th, March as the Commissioner General of RCS.
The handover ceremony was held at RCS headquarters presided over by the Minister of Internal Security, Sheikh Moussa Fazil Harelimana.
Rwarakabije has been heading RCS since 2011.
Rwarakabije extended best wishes to the new RCS head and promised cooperation whenever necessary.
“RCS is a family, no one leaves it. We will always strive for the development of RCS wherever we will be settled,” he said.
CGP George Rwigamba said that he will try his best to advance what former leaders had already put in place and called on RCS personnel to be disciplined as the foundation of their job.
CGP George Rwigamba started new duties with his deputy, DCGP Chantal Ujeneza who replaced DCG Mary Gahonzire.
