Rwandan refugees recorded in Lubero and Walikale

{The National Commission for Refugees (CNR) of the DRC began Thursday, December 26th, a census of Rwandan refugees in the territories of Lubero and Walikale in North Kivu (East) .}

According to Radio Okapi that delivers this information, the bureau chief of the CNR in North Kivu, Laingulia Njewa explained that the purpose of this campaign is to organize the repatriation of those who want it.

Offices are open to specific locations across the two territories for this identification and registration.

According Laingulia Njewa, the Congolese government has asked the Committee to sensitize Rwandan refugees living in the DRC for many years. “Those who want to return to Rwanda, the government with the support of UNHCR [UN High Commissioner for Refugees] is ready to facilitate their return with dignity, honor and security,” said Laingulia Njewa.
