MC Murenzi who was popular deejay at Contact FM in Rwanda has launched a Radio in America after completing his studies in Hudson Valley Community College in New York.
He was popular as an emcee at big social bashes and formal functions in Rwanda between 2007 and 2011 when he went to America where he lives.
He studied ‘Digital Media and TV Production’ at the university which opened for him doors of launching his new medium ‘Radio Isoko’.
“I have launched this Radio after completing my university studies. I studied courses related to journalism and technology ‘Digital Media and TV Production’ which prompted me to start my own radio,” he said.
He launched the radio as a platform that connects Rwandans in Diaspora so they know what takes place in Rwanda and counter news disseminated by foreign media misinterpreting the truth of reality in their country.
“Since I started living in America, I realized a plethora of information gaps on Rwanda. Some radios air wrong news about Rwanda. That is why I have launched this radio so that we can disseminate the truth of what takes place in our country,” he said.
“This radio will hold talks connecting the Diaspora. I have signed agreements with some radios in Rwanda to provide some aired news and air some of leading talk shows,” he added.
Murenzi’s radio has been on air for a short period of time accessed on TuneIn and available to the website radioisoko.com. Murenzi says the radio will also air big events of Rwandans in Diaspora.
