Rwanda Trains S.Sudan Delegation on Gender

{{A delegation of 13 Staff from the United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan – Integrated Mission Training Centre is undergoing a two-week course on ‘Gender, Leadership and Peace Building’ at the RDF Senior Command and Staff College, Nyakinama.}}

The Training was organized by the Rwanda Peace Academy (RPA) in partnership with the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) as well as UNMISS – IMTC.

As trainees confirmed, Rwanda has made significant progress in mainstreaming Gender balance adding that to get trained in a country like Rwanda is very important.

Gladys Jambi, one of the trainees from South Soudan said that he is pleased to see here in Rwanda, women competing with men in labour market adding that it can be good if the same situation exists in South Soudan.

The president of the national women council, Tengera Francesca who officiated at the launch of training said no country can develop if women are left aside.

She stressed that both men and women should have equal chances and that could lead to sustainable development.
