Rwanda tourism shines in Germany World Leading Travel Trade Show

Run from 6th to 11th March, the exhibition was attended by different exhibitors from across the World.

Countries that participate in the exhibition target to attract tourists from different directions as well as to exhibit tourism opportunities available inside them.

On the agenda of the ITB-Berlin 2018 also discussed human rights, fighting women and child rights violation as well as protecting biodiversity.

Rwanda was represented by different tourism services providing companies led by Rwanda Development Board (RDB).

Rwanda’s tourism team won the first place in Africa category at the exhibition and was followed by Botswana and Marrakech, Morocco.

Among consideration were preparation of the exhibition stand, different parts of the stand, behaviors of exhibitors and sharing of information among others.

This year’s fare was attended by 1137 exhibitors from across the World and awards were provided in six categories.

The Tourism Marketing Manager at RDB, Linda Mutesi hailed Rwandan community’s cooperation and the Embassy of Rwanda in German for partnership to help shine in the exhibition.

“We thank participants in the show, the Embassy of Rwanda in German, cultural troops, exhibitors at the stand and the whole Rwandan team,” she said.

The ambassador of Rwanda in German, Igor Cesar said that the country should do all that is possible for the country to retain first position.

“We Rwandans are facilitated by our values. Last year we were on third position and today are leading, we should retain such position,” he said.

ITB-Berlin started in 1966 and Rwanda is participating for the 18th time.

Rwandan companies that participated include,;Thousand Hills Africa; Primate safaris, Go Kigali Tours, ITT, Charleston Travel, Satguru, Wildlife Tours , Amahoro Tours and Rwanda Ecotours.
