Rwanda to host, exhibit during FARA

{The Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI) says, Rwanda has a lot of achievements in agriculture, research and animal husbandry which will be exhibited in the upcoming Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA).}

The forum will kick off on June 13th, 2016 along with the exhibition that will bring together African researchers as a move to increase efforts in agricultural, animal husbandry research and marketing agricultural products.

“Rwanda is a country taking care of agriculture and farmers compared to other countries. May be we don’t have same chances of harvesting big like neighboring countries but we have enough to exhibit to foreigners, “said the Minister Dr Geraldine Mukeshima .

No country has beauty of terraces like Rwanda. People are working on it to seek how terraces can be exploited as touristic attraction since it doesn’t exist in other countries. Girinka and donation of fertilizers to farmers among others are our particularity,” she added.

The minister of state in MINAGRI, Tony Nsanganira has explained that the meeting will be an opportunity to demonstrate Rwanda’s agricultural innovations.

“Our exhibition will be related to research and innovations. You will see various innovations of Rwandans including people using technology in agriculture and animal husbandry,” he said.
