Rwanda will hold the rotating presidency of the Security Council of the United Nations on April 1st for next month.
The presidency of the Council is held by each of the members in turn for one month, following the English alphabetical order of the Member States names.
Rwanda has planned to organize debates on Mali in time when the terms of the transformation of Misma, International Mission Support in Mali, a peacekeeping operation of UN peace is being discussed.
In discussions on the mandate of the Misma, Rwanda wants to be the voice of Mali to the Security Council.
In addition, Rwanda is ready to share its experience with Mali, including national reconciliation and reintegration of combatants.
Rwanda has been elected non-permanent member of the Security Council for a term of two years from 1 January 2013 along with Argentina, Australia, South Korea and Luxembourg.
These five countries have replaced South Africa, Germany, Colombia, India and Portugal.
