Rwanda set for first green homes

Private Sector Federation chief executive Stephen Ruzibiza (L), chats with the chief executive of Horizon Group, Eugene Haguma, at a workshop to disseminate study findings on the construction of environmental-friendly green homes in Rwanda, a joint initiative between Horizon Group – an investment company concerned with the financial, social and environmental impact of businesses in Rwanda – and the National Fund for Climate Change and Environment in Kigali yesterday.

The project, on a 13.7-hectare piece of land in Kinyinya suburb of Kigali, will have a total of 349 dwelling units distributed in 137 buildings, Haguma said. The large central part of the plot will be open, with trees and shrubs.
