Land Ministers who attended a meeting organized by the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD) commended work by Rwanda in ensuring security of Land Tenure and requested countries to follow that example.
The Meeting was closed yesterday, 20th November in Zambia.
Rwanda Minister of Natural Resources Stanislas Kamanzi promised full support of Rwanda to any country that would like to know more about land tenure regularization Program.
Minister Kamanzi delivered a statement on achievements in areas of land management and Mapping during RCMRD conference in Zambia noting that Rwanda has managed to make significant progress to ensure land security among residents.
Deputy Director General of land and Mapping in Rwanda Natural resources Authority Didier Sagashya gave presentation on systematic land registration to ministers members of RCMRD hence the presentation inspired participants.
Botswana and Lesotho expressed desire to visit Rwanda Natural Resources to know more about land registration processus in Rwanda.
Rwanda News Agency reported that RCMRD is Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development.
RCMRD is an inter-governmental organisation which currently has contracting member States in the Eastern and Southern African regions namely Botswana, Burundi, Comoros, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somali, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.
It was established in 1975 under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the then Organisation of African Unity (OAU).
