Current statistics show that Rwanda has 56,2% of women in parliament, 38% in local governance , 30% in Justice and 30% of board of Directors in public institutions are women.
Speaking to IGIHE, the President of National Human rights Commission, Nirere Madeleine said, “this shows how Rwanda is moving forward to eliminate Gender disparities among decision making institutions.”
Nirere noted that the world has a lot to learn from Rwanda showing the example of how women are contributing to the socio economic transformation of Rwandans.
