{The United Nation’s report on [Women in ministerial positions->http://www.ipu.org/pdf/publications/wmnmap15_en.pdf] shows that Rwanda is the third country in Africa with the highest number of women Ministers.}
The countries were ranked according to the percentage of women in ministerial positions, reflecting appointments up to 1 January 2015.
Cape Verde ranked first in Africa and 2nd Worldwide with 9 women ministers representing the percentage of 52.9% of its 17 ministers.
South Africa is the second African country and 11th worldwide with 15 women ministers representing 41.7% of 36 ministers.
Rwanda which ranked third in Africa and 13th in the world, has 11 women Ministers representing 35.5% of 31 ministers.
Rwanda comes ahead of Burundi, Tanzania and Guinea-Bissau, which all come in among the top 20 positions globally.
Meanwhile Rwanda is the first country in the world to have the highest number of women parliamentarians.
The percentage of women in Rwanda’s Parliament stands at 63.8%.
