Rwanda: Inmates to sit for National Test

Rwanda’s Commissioner General of Prisons said the inmates will sit for the exam which will allow them to continue for further studies.

However Rwarakabije Paul told the press that the process of signing the MOU between the National Commission of Prisons and the Rwanda Education Board is underway.

The Commissioner-General said the curriculum is very important for young offenders who have not had the chance to continue their studies.

It is said that those inmates who want to continue their education are taught by guards and other inmates trained to teach.

The MOU will allow correction facilities to get teacher that will be sent by the Ministry of Education.
