Rwanda inflation up by 0.5 percent in October

Rwanda’s inflation rose by 0.5 percent year on year in October, up from 0.2 percent in September, the statistics office said on Tuesday.

In October,clothing and footwear, Education and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels rose by 7.9, 7.1 and 2.3 percent year on year, respectively.

The data also show the local goods decreased by 0.2 percent on annual change and it increased by 0.5 on a monthly basis, while prices of the imported products increased by 3.2 percent on annual change with a monthly change of 1.0 percent.

The prices of the fresh products had a negative annual change of 11.2 percent between October 2014 and October 2013.
