The president of Rwandan parliament, Donatille Mukabalisa has received the president of Chinese Parliament, Zhang Dejiang who is in the country on a two day visit.
Zhang Dejiang arrived in Rwanda yesterday with a delegation of 50 persons that accompanied him in a visit aimed at improving the cooperation between China and Rwanda. They visited Kigali genocide memorial.
Since 1971, Rwanda and China have been strengthening bilateral cooperation. China supports Rwanda in education, health, technology and construction sectors.
After holding exclusive talks, the president of parliamentary chamber of deputies, Mukabalisa Donatille said that the visit is meant to strengthen good bilateral relations between both countries.
“The cooperation between both countries has been strong for a long time. His visit will strengthen that cooperation,” she said.
She further explained that Dejiang commended Rwanda’s development pace from the ravages of war, comparing it with China’s rise from poverty to becoming a world power.
On his African touring leg, Dejiang has visited Zambia, Rwanda and will be in Kenya before going back to China.
