{Sana Maboneza, the first Permanent Representative of Rwanda to the United Nations has passed away in a car crash in Virginia, US. }
Maboneza was among diplomats appointed by the cabinet meeting of Tuesday 14th April 2015 to represent Rwanda in New York. He dies one year after the appointment.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Louise Mushikiwabo has via twitter account expressed sadness over the sudden death of Sana Maboneza.
Rwanda’s ambassador to Belgium, Olivier Nduhungirehe has said Maboneza was one of the experts in peace and security at UN.
Maboneza served as the head of the department of foreign affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation from June 2010 to December 2012.
