{Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Louise Mushikiwabo has congratulated Angola for being elected to serve as non-permanent member on the Security Council for two-year terms beginning on 1 January 2015.

Angola’s seat for the African Group is currently held by Rwanda.
Speaking to the Press Conference in Kigali, Mushikiwabo said “We congratulate Angola for being elected to non-permanent seat on UNSC!”
She also reminded that Angola takes over from Rwanda, which ends its term within this year.
In May this year the Governments of Rwanda and Angola signed agreements aimed at boosting bilateral relations between the two countries.
Angola and Rwanda signed three pacts of general cooperation agreement, the joint cooperation commission and a MoU on political consultations.
The two countries have among other things expressed interest in cooperating on air transport projects.
Rwanda’s national carrier, RwandAir, will be working closely with the Angolan Airline to facilitate air transport between the two countries.
