About 30 Hectares of land in Gishari Sector of Rwamagana District have been reserved to grow flowers and about 900 residents are expected to get employed in the said business.
The Mayor of Rwamagana District, Uwimana Nehemie confirmed to IGIHE that growing flowers will lead to the socio-economic transformation of the District.
“The land is ready and citizens were already compensated their relocation fees to leave space for flower growing and NAEB is to provide flower seedlings very soon” Uwimana said.
The Government of Rwanda has said that since horticulture is important to the development of the country, it will put more effort in strengthening capacity among follower and fruit growers.
