
{293 Rwamagana district residents who successfully completed one year training graduated from adult literacy program and were awarded certificates in a program run by Pentecostal Church of Rwanda (ADEPR).}
The ceremony was graced by government officials as well as ADEPR representatives, friends and colleagues of the graduates.
They were urged to be the torchbearers for those who are not yet come to benefit from the program so as to encourage them to join it.
ADEPR says to teach Rwandans is an important step towards the self-respect.
The ADEPR Literacy program coordinator, Pastor Theogene Hakuzwumuremyi says that the partnership between ADEPR and local government institutions can effectively contribute to the total eradication of illiteracy among adult Rwandans.
He says that 231 graduates among 293 from 14 parishes of Rwamagana District were from Muhazi Parish which means that the church of Muhazi has worked hands in hands with local officials hence there was a good result others can learn from that.

The Vice Mayor in charge of Economics and Development in Rwamagana District, Mutiganda Francisca requested graduates to go on studying more courses including technical courses so as to increase their potential as well as improving their wellbeing.
He thanked ADEPR for this program and pledges that the district will keep working together so that many residents are benefited from the program.

In his speech, Rev Jean Sibomana head of the ADEPR says that illiteracy must be eradicated as grass thatched houses “Nyakatsi” were eradicated on Rwandan soil
He thanked the Government for initiating Education for all as the solution to end illiteracy.
The Pentecostal Church of Rwanda has been awarded the 2012 UNESCO King Sejong Literacy Prize for its National Adult Literacy Programme
