The suspects and the exhibits are held at Kivumu Police Post as investigations continue.

Chief Inspector Ildéphonse Rutagambwa, Rutsiro District Police Commander (DPC), said the fishing nets the suspects were using were banned.

“Besides that, all fishing activities in Lake Kivu on the side of Rutsiro were put to halt to help the fish to grow and what they did was therefore illegal and against the law,” CIP Rutagambwa said.
