{Lightening has struck a man identified as Mazimpaka Ticien, 52, and his son Niyogushima Constantin, 13, from Kamusana village, Kamanu cell, Nyakabuye sector of Rusizi district, instantly killing the child while the father survived and taken to hospital for medical assistance. }
The executive secretary of Nyakabuye sector, James Ngirabatware has told IGIHE that the incident took place on Sunday around 15:00 hours during a downpour.
“The incident took place around was around 15:30 hours. As it started raining, lightening struck the father and child. The son died instantly while the father was seriously injured, went unconscious and taken to hospital,” he said.
