Rubona Emmanuel has, with much chagrin, bid farewell to APR FC team after getting replaced by a Tunisian, Nizar Khanfir as the team’s coach. He said that he won’t forget the players he has worked with for five months, requested players to respect the new coach and wished them good luck.
On Tuesday, 7th March, 2016 after APRF beat Musanze FC, Rubona Emmanuel gathered players in the cloakroom and bid them farewell but promised to stay close to them even though he will be running duties of coaching another team.He later talked to the press. “It is clear that he has been a good coach. May be he has left because of the team’s management decision but as players, we liked him,” said one of APR FC players who talked to IGIHE.
Rubona was appointed to coach APR FC in September 2015. He lost the first match on 22nd September 2015 when Mukura defeated APR FC with 2-0. Since then, he managed 15 matches, won ten, had three draws and was defeated in two matches including one with Mbabane Swallows in CAF Champions League. In return he defeated Mbabane Swallows 4-1 when it came to Kigali, Rwanda.
