As he winded up his visit to Rwanda, Governor Mouyokani met with members of Rotary for an evening dinner held at Onomo Hotel on September 22, 2018.
The dinner attracted Rotary Clubs leaders and members from Rwanda, Burundi and Democratic Republic of Congo.
During his visit, Governor Mouyokani visited different projects funded by Rotary Organization in Rwanda.
He visited Integrated Polytechnic Regional Centre (IPRC) Kigali where he launched a Rwf 20million aerial pedestrian bridge, of which construction was sponsored by Gasabo Rotary Club and Bridge to Prosperity (B2p), a United States-based nonprofit organization that partners with local governments to connect their rural last mile via pedestrian bridges.
He also participated in the launch of the 50 tonnes storehouse for potatoes seeds, which was given to potato farmers in Musanze District. The storehouse was built by Kigali Doyen Rotary Club.
Mouyokani had discussions with the Minister of Health, Dr. Diane Gashumba and the Minister of Education, Dr. Eugene Mutimura over the projects seeking to enhance the two domains.
He visited the Kigali Public Library (KPL) of which building was sponsored by Rotary International and Rwandan Government and later visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre at Gisozi where he paid respects to thousands of the victims who are laid to rest there.
The Governor also had several other engagements.
“We are glad to have shared our activities to him. We learnt a lot and he gave so many lessons which we are ready to implement,” Rugera said, adding that partnering with the Government will increase people’s understanding on Rotary and its activities.
“We work very well with the Government organs. I commend the Government of Rwanda for its partnership with Rotary. They (Government) approach us and facilitate our works. We work with the Ministry of Health in case medical experts come in Rwanda togive the medical support. It is of a great value that the Government understood Rotary’s activities and the good impact they have on citizens and then put in efforts to partner with us,” Rugera emphasized.
