Refugees at Kigeme Camp Abandon Begging

Congolese refugees at Kigeme Camp of Nyamagabe District have decided to refrain from begging by working together to earn a good living.

Congolese women who used to beg have formed a cooperative at the camp that will facilitate them in getting money to feed their respective families.

The Cooperative was started in 2012 and has 200 members most of them women.

They produce soaps, cakes as well as delivering tailoring services.
