Rwanda Defense Forces (RDF) appointed new responsibilities to senior staff commanders. According to the public notice signed by RDF spokesperson Gen Joseph Nzabamwita on this 28th October, 2015 President Kagame and Chief in Command of RDF has assigned new responsibilities in accordance with constitutional provisions.
Following officers have been assigned new responsibilities
1. Brig Gen Charles Karamba has been appointed Air Force Chief of Staff.
2. Maj Gen JB Kazura – Commandant RDF Command and Staff College.
3. Maj Gen Richard Rutatina – J2 known as DMI (Directorate of Military Intelligence)
4. Brig Gen Innocent Kabandana – Commander SOF (Special Operations Force)
5. Col Vincent Nyakarundi – Defence Attaché, Rwanda Embassy, Washington D.C.
6. Maj Raoul Bazatoha promoted to Lt Col and appointed Defence Advisor, Rwanda Permanent Mission at UN, New York.
7. Brig Gen Joseph Demali and Lt Col Franco Rutagengwa have been appointed to report to CDS (Chief Defence Staff) Office.
Preceding changes in RDF senior staff command date back two years ago in August 2013.
