RDF Contingent -from a land of a Thousand Hills to Himalayan Mountains- from 25th March has embarked on special operations exercises.
Men and women of the RDF have demonstrated their ability to operate in mountainous terrain, rescue operation, disaster management and more. As part of Force generation, this training prepares RDF to serve anywhere, in any terrain and climate!
“So far, we have gained new skills on how to operate the M16 personal weapon, rescue basic techniques and more skills on how to occupy and secure the UN designated site”, testifies Sergeant Major Rurangwa Alfred one of the RDF participating in Nepal Multinational military exercise.
Pte Ishimwe Godfrey and Mukabaranga Delphine (here pictured) proved to the Participants of the Nepal Multinational military drills that they can perform well in a disaster rescue operation using special equipment and in a short time, any way any time.
A report from Rwandan Contingent in Nepal indicates that on 27 March from 0800 to 1700hrs, Rwanda platoon conducted the United Nations Designated site and during the evaluation the platoon achieved the required standards.
The two-week long multinational military exercise is aimed at enhancing skills for UN peacekeeping missions. The participants of this Exercise will also train in skills used for peacekeeping operations such as patrolling, checkpoint controls and convoy operations.
The exercise codenamed ’Shanti Prayas-II’ that kicked off on 25th is hosted by the Nepal Army in coordination with the United States Co-Sponsored multinational Peace Support Operations (PSO) and United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) under the Global Operations Initiative program, will end on 7th April.
