{A delegation of six Senior Officials from the Ethiopian Defence Military Academy on 23 June 2016 paid a courtesy call on the Rwanda Defence Force Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Patrick Nyamvumba. The Ethiopian delegation was led by Col Goitom Farus, Commandant of the Ethiopian Defence Military Academy, and has been conducting a one week working visit in Rwanda.}
After meeting the RDF CDS at RDF Headquarters, Col Goitom disclosed that the Ethiopian Defence Forces delegation study tour in Rwanda was aimed at learning from Rwanda Defence Force on training development and transformation. “We came here to learn from Rwanda Defence Force military education and training institutions. It was a very impressive trip and we learnt a lot as we expected”, Col Goitom Farus said.
Col Goitom Farus further noted that they enjoyed a lot their stay in Rwanda, and that he will discuss with his superiors the possibility of sending officers from Ethiopia Defence Forces to train in Rwanda.
During the visit, the Ethiopian delegation visited also the Rwanda Military Academy, the RDF Command and Staff College, the Rwanda Peace Academy and the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. The visit that was concluded today had started on 19 June 2016. Rwanda and Ethiopia have a long standing cooperation in various sectors.
