RDF bid farewell to deceased spouses of Malawi senior officers

{General and Senior Officers of Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), family and friends on 4 June 2016 bid farewell to late Mrs Ruth Liyao Maluwa and Mrs Eunice Chidzungu, spouses respectively of Maj Gracious Maluwa and Maj Richard Chidzungu. The two Senior Officers from Malawi had been undergoing the Senior Command and Staff Course at RDF Command and Staff College in Musanze District.}

The two ladies died in a road accident on 1 June 2016 in Rulindo District. They were travelling from Kigali to Musanze to attend the graduation of their husbands, which was scheduled to take place on Friday 3 June 2016.

Before being flown back to Malawi, the dead bodies were respectfully seen off on 4 June 2016 by RDF General and Senior Officers at Kigali International Airport. The burial ceremony of the deceased is scheduled to take place on 05 June 2016. The Rwanda Defence Force will be represented by a delegation led by Maj Gen JB Kazura, the RDF CSC Commandant.

While officiating the graduation ceremony of the 04 Senior Command and Staff Course on 3 June 2016, Honourable Minister of Defence, Gen James Kabarebe conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the Government of Rwanda and the RDF to the bereaved families, the Malawi Defence Forces and the Government of Malawi.
