{{RDB staff has marked the 19th commemoration of Genocide against ethnic Tutsi’s that claimed over a million lives in just a hundred days.}}
The event held on Thursday was preceded by a walk to remember which started from Kacyiru and headed to the Kigali Genocide memorial site at Gisozi.
Headed by the RDB CEO, Claire Akamanzi, the RDB staffs at the memorial site were shown a film on Genocide and unity and reconciliation process.
Akamanzi noted that RDB pledged support to rehabilitate the memorial site aimed at improving the site.
Pastor Antoine Rutayisire who accompanied the RDB staffs, urged for continued commemoration saying this would help correct the past wrongs.
“when you do not commemorate, chances are high that one would fall back to the dark past which included ethnic divisionism, we need to get out of this and help nurture next generation that will be free of influences of the negative past”
