Rainstorms kill 2, ruin 91 houses

{Heavy rains that poured across the country last week left two people dead and 91 houses in ruins. The most affected districts are Kicukiro, Nyagatare, Gasabo, Ruhango, Huye and Kayonza , a report from the Ministry of Disaster Management and Refugee Affairs(MIDIMAR) shows.}

MIDIMAR has revealed that two bridges of Ruhango and Ntongwe were destroyed in adding to 38 ravaged houses. In Kicukiro district 22 houses were destroyed, 18 in Nyagatare, 6 in Huye, 3 in Rubavu and 4 houses were ravaged in Gasabo district.
MIDIMAR argues that the destruction is also a result of old houses built with fragile construction materials.

Rwanda Meteorology Agency has previously announced that some regions of the country will be ravaged El Niño, to be followed by widespread droughts.
