Radisson Blu Kigali, Convention Centre scoops best architectural design award

Having scooped three WTA’s awards as Africa and Rwanda’s Leading Conference Hotel 2017 and Africa’s Leading New Hotel 2017, Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Centre Kigali has yet won another two awards.

Kigali Convention Centre (KCC) is the premium events venue in Rwanda since its opening in 2016 and a hugely popular MICE destination in Africa. The multifaceted design reflects a true Rwandan homestead. The dome shape auditorium, reproduces a hut in the King’s Palace and boasts a capacity of 2600 guests, whereas, the 291-rooms, Radisson Blu Hotel, architectural façade replicates a traditional and colourful weaved basket.

The facility has so far hosted 563 events bringing together 179,718 delegates since its opening in July 2016.

The biggest events include 27th Ordinary African Union Summit of Heads of State and Governments in July 2016, Global Summit on Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol in October 2016 and 10th Extra-Ordinary African Union Summit of Heads of State and Governments on Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in March 2018, among others.
