Radio Salus: Academy For Rwandan Media!

{{Since Radio Salus has been established in 2005, most of the people asked themselves why its journalists leave it after being well trained in the career of journalism.}}

In getting solutions to these doubts, it needs to consult history on rules and regulations of the establishment of this radio of National University of Rwanda.

When it was starting its programmes in November 2005 in collaboration with UNESCO, one among its objectives was to give practical knowledge to students in School of Journalism and Communication of National Unversity of Rwanda, EJC, in order for the media of Rwanda to get professional journalists.

Within three (3) years after door opening of this radio, more than 100 journalists have already been trained in media as they are recruited by other different media companies in Rwanda because of professionalism these journalists have harvested from Radio Salus.

As the year ends, graduates from the university as they leave, they are substituted other new students who are committed for the profession that is to say journalism.

This substitution is the one that brings confusion to many people thinking that Radio Salus might have negligence towards the movement of brighter and professional journalists. In the real sense this is not true, because in the responsibilities of teaching, the graduates from the university after being given a degree must leave the place to the labor market like others.

But what only Radio Salus has solved to the students working on it, is the immediate recruitment of them by different journals without job tests given to them because of their reputation brought from Radio Salus.

Some of them in ORINFOR we have: Ndengeyingoma Jean Claude, Theoneste Nisingizwe, Rudakemwa Sangano, Bienvenu Redemptus, Umutoni Carine and others who are among good journalists on Radio Rwanda and TVR.

Private media companies are also pleased to work with journalists who passed on Radio salus. Sports on Radio 10, Flash, CFM, Isango Star and others which are popular because of, Jado Castar, Rutamu, Jado Dukuze and others who were trained by Radio Salus.
