The management of A.T.P.R (Asociation des Transporteurs des Personnes au Rwanda) has requested drivers and conductors to actively participate in the combating of genocide ideology.
The president of transport agencies, Olivier Nizeyimana , made the call yesterday during the commemoration event of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi.
“I know genocide won’t occur again but genocide ideology persists and needs eradication. As people transporting passengers every day, we must be the light of good message in completely eradicating genocide ideology,” he said.
The ceremony was preceded by a walk to remember from Merez petroleum station to Gisozi memorial where they paid tribute to genocide victims and laid wreaths at the memorial.
