Public driver’s licence tests to start next week

{The Rwanda National Police (RNP) department of Traffic and Road Safety has announced that the 2016 first quarter provisional and practical tests for driver’s licence seekers, who registered, will start on February 2.}

Supt. Jean Marie Vianney Ndushabandi, the spokesperson of the traffic department, said the tests will be conducted in phases with the first phase to be conducted in the City of Kigali from February 2 to 7.

“For those who registered in Nyarugenge District, they will do their tests at Kimisagara Youth Centre; in Gasabo they will be done at UNILAK while those in Kicukiro will go to Kicukiro stadium,” Supt. Ndushabandi said.

The tests will continue in the Southern Province and the districts of Rusizi, Nyamasheke, Karongi, Rutsiro and Ngororero from the Western Province between February 9 and 11, followed by the Northern Province and the districts of Nyabihu and Rubavu from the Western between 16th and 18th, while in the Eastern Province the tests will be done between February 23 and 25.

“The first day in each province will be dedicated to provisional tests while other days will be for practical tests,” Supt. Ndushabandi explained.

“We urge all candidates to come on time and with all the required supporting credentials like registration number, photocopy of national ID and the serial number of the provisional licence for the candidates doing practical,” he said.
