Providing services to citizens is not a favour but a duty—Kagame

{President Paul Kagame has called upon RPF leaders to always strive towards achieving the best results in serving citizens with a willing and committed spirit. }

President Kagame, also chairman of RPF Inkotanyi noted this yesterday during the RPF Political Bureau meeting held at Kigali Convention Center that brought together over 2,000 party leaders from across the country.

“We are here to remember the values of RPF for which people sacrificed their lives; these values should not be taken lightly. No one leader here can be more important than the nation they serve. Some leaders get drunk on praises and start to believe their interests are above the nation they are meant to serve. Public service is about serving people and the country. Providing services to citizens is not a favour but a duty. Why should we tolerate to perform below our ability? We cannot accept for the achievements of this nation to go backwards.”

President Kagame said the greatest progress is that no Rwandan lives in fear of not waking up to see the next day as security for all is guaranteed.

“The foundation of all of RPF achievements is that no Rwandan ever has to feel that their own government will persecute them for who they are,” the president considered.

“Citizens we serve should not chase after us for services and seeking what we have to accomplish for them, it is our duty to serve them,” he said.

During the meeting, the CEO of Rwanda Governance Board, Prof Shyaka Anastase took members through the achievements by RPF.
