{{Prosecution at Nyarugenge Intermediate Court has protested against Bail sought by Charles Bandora a genocide suspect extradited saying he is a flight risk.}}
Bandora was extradicted from Norway in March 2012. He is charged with genocide, conspiracy to commit genocide, complicity in genocide, extermination as a crime against humanity, murder and formation of a criminal gang.
Prosecutor Ndibwami Rugambwa argued,“We are seeking provisional detention based on the gravity of the crimes Bandora is charged. If he is released from custody, he might flee the country considering that he did not come to Rwanda by his wish.”
Bandora was the vice chairperson of the ruling party MRND in Bugesera.
MRND planned and executed the genocide against ethnic Tutsi’s which resulted into the death of over a million lives in 1994 in a span of only 100days.
