Prime Minister Dr. Pierre Damien Habumuremyi has set deadline of March, 2013 for completion of constructing Rukarara II hydroelectric plant.
The Premier was visiting the site II, January 11th, 2013.
The delay of constructing the plant was due to the construction company that complained of having committed additional work not specified in the contract.
However, the Prime Minister said that the company should have continued its work and sought for payment at the end of construction activities.
Habumuremyi gave the two parties, the Company and EWASA representative of the Government a deadline of end of March 2013, for completing the work of the Hydroelectric plant.
Rukarara II intended to provide 2 Megawats of Electricity and should have been operational by November 2012.
