{President Paul Kagame has retired 35 junior and senior police officers as per the powers conferred upon him by the Constitution of the Republic of Rwanda and the presidential order nº 30/01 of 09/07/2012 establishing the statute of police.}
As apparent in the Official Gazette number 51 of 19th December 2016, president Kagame has retired the officers after it was assessed and approved by the cabinet meeting of 10th August 2016.
The retired junior and senior police officers include five at the rank of SP [Superintendent of Police], seven with CIP [Chief Inspector of Police], 12 with the rank of IP [Inspector of Police] and 11 at the rank of AIP [Assistant Inspector of Police].
Article 71 article of presidential order nº 30/01 of 09/07/2012 establishing the particular statute guiding police personnel indicates that a police officer may be retired in case he/she requests it and approved and exercised by the leadership.
