President Kagame launches Nzove II, to address Kigali water challenges

{President Paul Kagame has launched a water treatment plant, Nzove II, in Nyarugenge district that will add 25,000m3 of water supplied in Kigali per day, processed from Nyabarongo River.}

President Kagame said that the new water plant will address water shortage challenges in Kigali city and requested citizens to own and maintain such development infrastructures to obtain optimum results and benefits.

Rwanda produces 140,000m3 of water meters per day, targeting 240,000m3 by 2018. Before Nzove II plant was inaugurated, only 65,000m3 were available in Kigali city expected to raise to 90,000m3.
