{{As the Police Institution lost four of its Police Officers in a tragic road accident on Friday, a decent burial was yesterday organized to honor the deceased and their families .}}
In their words, relatives reiterated the bravery that characterized those police officers and hailed police for its quick and humanitarian intervention to organize this due burial.
In his word, the Inspector General of Police Emmanuel K Gasana lauded the four Police officers as being valiant ones, committed, obedient and cherishing their institution.
“Their exemplary action shall serve for all of us as an act of valuing our personalities , our institution and our nation” .
The burial ceremonies were also attended by the Minister of Internal Security Sheikh Musa Fazil Harerimana and the D/IGP Stanley Nsabimana.
The deceased are namely Chief Inspector Peter Mugabo, Assistant Inspector Andrew Bizimana, Police Constable Mbarushimana Aimé and Police Constable Rutwaza Innocent.
“Rwanda National Police expresses its deep sorrow over the death of Police Officers and wish to convey its sincere condolences to the respective deceased’s families”, the IGP said.
We would remind that the tragic accident occurred in Gatagara Cell, Mukingo Sector in Nyanza District at around 10h30 where a Kenyan truck, plate number KAZ 524L driven by Martin Simeon, a Kenyan national, went off the lane and hit a Police pick-up which escorted the convoy, while on duty, in a Police Football Club convoy heading to Rusizi District where it was supposed to play with Espoir FC in Primus National League.
Police in the area intervened immediately at the scene of accident for rescue and evacuated casualties – four Police Officers were seriously injured – to Nyanza Hospital.
Rwanda National Police has time and again urged drivers to respect traffic laws and regulations in a bid to avoid reckless based accidents resulting into deaths and casualties.they were on duty.
