{{The Rwanda National Police (RNP) has appointed a new leadership and technical staff to manage its football team, Police FC.}}
The new management announced on Saturday by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Emmanuel K. Gasana, the club chairman, has Sam Ssimbwa, a Ugandan national, as the team’s new head coach.
The assistant coach is Jean Paul Kalisa; goalkeepers coach is Desire Niyonzima while Dr. CSP Francois Sinayobye and CIP Claude Bana is the head doctor and team manager respectively.
Col (rtd) Dodo Twahirwa is the new club president and will be deputized by Commissioner of Police (CP) Emmanuel Butera.
Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Jean Nepo Mbonyumuvunyi is the club’s Secretary General and Spokesperson.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Stanley Nsabimana and Alphonse Katarebe are the 1st and 2nd honorary presidents respectively.
The IGP lauded the outgoing coach, Goran Kopunovic for his dedicated service during his tenure and for reviving the team to be among the best clubs in the country.
Police FC retained its second slot on 2012/13 Primus League chart.
The outgoing coach thanked the Force for supporting him in rising the club’s ranks and wished good luck to his successor.
The new club President, Twahirwa pledged full commitment to take the Police FC to another level.
His priorities, he added, will be to bring new blood in the squad to compete fevoulably in the next season’s national football league.
