The suspect Mporebuke is being detained at Nyakarambi Police station pending further investigations.
The Patient whose names have been withheld on request was in the Nurse’s room where she was being diagnosed by her attacker who later locked the room and raped her.
During the attack, the patient made an alarm which attracted guards at the facility that swiftly arrived to rescue but found the room she was in had been locked.
After a while Mporebuke is said to have opened the door and his victim walked out crying saying she had been raped.
Police was immediately alerted and arrived to seize the rapist currently under police custody.
Dr. Uwilingiyemungu Jean Nepo who heads Kirehe district hospital confirmed the incidence saying one of the Nurses identified as Mporebuke Etienne had been arrested in connection with raping a patient.
