Police arrests three suspected of robbing electronics

{Three men were on April 3 arrested in connection with stealing electronic gadgets in Kigali, as Rwanda National Police (RNP) continues its operations against crime. }

The suspects are believed to have belonged to the same crime ring and were identified as Jean Paul Rwagasore, Jean Marie Vianey and Evode Dusabe, and are currently detained at Remera Police Station as further investigations commence.

Police Spokesperson for Central Region, Superintendent Modeste Mbabazi, said that Police conducted investigations into a robbery case that occurred on March 23 in Kisementi, when a shop was robbed of four photocopiers, three desktops and five laptops among other gadgets.

“investigations led us to the three suspects and we arrested them in separate locations. Our operations relied on some information that residents provided,” he said.

“Crime and violence will be tackled in this country if we continue to work in partnership with residents through community policing.”

The owner of the robbed shop, Prosper Hakizimana, commended Police for solving the case and bringing the suspects to justice.

He also urged residents, particularly traders, to adhere to the norm of community policing by providing timely information to Police and help investigations into such crimes.
