Pineapple Farmers want Standards Permit

Kamonyi District farmers through their cooperative COPRABU have said Juice factory in the area has since added value to pineapple crop in the region.

The farmers say that previously one pineapple used to cost about Frw150. Currently a litre of pineapple juice costs Frw 3,000.

Nkurunziza Alphonse, the President of COPRABU told IGIHE that the farmers cooperative challenge is to obtain a standards permit since its existence in 2000.

The cooperative comprises of about 35 members.
