Patriotic month launched

Kigali, 1st October 2015-Kigali City has launched the Patriotic month aimed at mobilising citizens to work for the well being of the country and Rwandans.

The launch of this month was held on 1st October 2015 in Gasabo District in Groupe Scolaire de Kagugu, in the presence of the students of this school and of the various leaders of the city as well as those from Gasabo District.

The month is a part of celebrating October 1, 1990, a day that engraved a history in quest for Rwanda’s liberation from the yoke of bad leadership.

Rwamurangwa Steven, the Mayor of Gasabo District urged students to be patriotic while preserving the cultural values as well as upholding Rwandan Spirit.

He said “To love the country does not only mean to love its environment but also to love its citizens and people living in Rwanda.”

Among the activities to be conducted throughout this month will include activities like tree planting, forest management as well as helping vulnerable families around Kigali city’ districts.
