{{Parents have been warned against propagating negative and divisive Ethnicity and genocide ideology among their children.}}
Karekezi Léandre the mayor of Gisagara district on April 9, urged parents to carefully select what is important and useful to tell their children and drop any forms of ethnic divisionism.
The mayor reminded the residents about the pre genocide events in Rwanda where he cited ethnic divisionism and ethnic hate propaganda that was common in schools and championed by teachers.
He however, said in Rwanda today, there is no more ethnic divisionism taught in schools and thus any cases of ethnic divisionism arising today are due to what children are learning from their homes and extended families.
Karekezi urged parents to guide their children on developmental matters and desist from ethnic divisionism which has no benefits to the childrens development and the country.
